Modify Multiple Work Items together in VSTS (Visual Studio Team Services)

You can modify multiple work items together in VSTS (Visual Studio Team Services) Web Portal.  When you want to make same changes for multiple work item, the bulk edit is quite helpful and fast. For an example, you want to assign set of tasks of the user stories to a developer in your team or change the iteration path for several work items. In such cases, you can select all the work items together and take necessary action.

Modifying multiple work items or bulk editing would be effective and much faster if you do it from Excel with the help of Visual Studio Team Services Tools for Excel.   However, the similar set of bulk edits can be achieved from Web Portal as well.

Select multiple work Items by holding Ctrl Key, and then select action icons () from any of the selected work items.

Content menu for the work items will display the set of common option that you can perform all the selected work items. As shown in the current images, you can change the Iteration for all the selected work item. Using the bulk edit option, you can also Change the Type of Works Items together, as well as Move multiple work items to another team project.

The Edit option will allow you to edit multiple properties and their values for the selected work items.
