Update base Azure DevOps work item types description for an Inherited Process

Updating the system field description for Azure DevOps work item types for the inherited customs process type is now supported. For any Azure DevOps Services Project, We choose project templates such as Agile, Scrum, Basic, or we can create a custom template by inheriting from system types project. Each Project template type has its own work item types or even we can add our own custom type.  flexibility to have different descriptions for the same field on different work item types.

When we inherit a process type, we can add custom types and customize them as needed. However, all the base types were not editable earlier. Now, you can edit the description for all the base types/custom fields.

For an instance, Let us consider you have “InternalDev_Agile” project, inherited from “Agile

While you can create custom work item types, and update the same, earlier it was not possible to update the base work item types description, like if you would like to change the description for any fields for Bug, or Task, or anything it used to be disabled.

With the recent update on Azure DevOps Services, you can have the same changed.

It gives us the flexibility to have different descriptions for the same field on different work item types.
