5 cool things about Windows 10 that you need to know

Windows 10 is an upcoming release of the Microsoft Windows operating system. Unveiled on September 30, 2014, it will be released in late 2015. Windows 10 is said to be the next new generation which will bring new capabilities and features in a Windows, never seen before. Here are the top 5 cool features of windows 10 as showcased in the Windows 10 Technical Preview.

1. Start Menu is back.

The familiar Windows 7 / XP Start menu is back and it just got a bit modern. The new start menu gives users a customizable space for their favorite apps and Live Tiles. It brings about the best of both worlds. However Windows 10 technical preview also offers the user to switch back to the Windows 8 / 8.1 style start screen.

2. Windows 10 isn’t just for PCs.

Windows 10 will run across an incredibly broad set of devices ranging from Internet of Things (IOT) to datacenters worldwide. It will enable users to switch form factors in continuum and use Universal apps on multiple devices.

3. Multiple Desktops are here.

Windows 10 now enables you to create multiple desktops for different purposes and projects. It enables the users to switch between these desktops easily and pick up where they left on each desktop seamlessly.

4. Modern Apps are no more a pain.

Apps from the Windows Store or modern apps now open in the same format that desktop apps do. The apps can be resized and moved around, and have title bars at the top allowing for maximize, minimize, and close with a click. Multiple apps can be snapped on the same screen, just like desktop apps.

5. Snapping just got more convenient.

Users can now have four apps snapped on the same screen. Windows 10 introduced a new quadrant layout for the same. Windows will also show other apps and programs running for additional snapping and even make smart suggestions on filling available screen space with other open apps. This makes snapping a whole lot more fun.  Subscribe to this session for more on Windows 10.
